MY FIRST IAG CAMP
My first IAG camp has ended and the only camp I am coaching this season due to my upcoming mid-year examinations. I truly enjoyed it and make some very good friends there. Not only they are my friends, they are my mentors too. They certainly taught me alot of things and I really appreciate that.
Over here, I would like to thank Cheryl (PD), Trina (APD) and finally Kai Jian, my coach who all guided me alot. Thanks very very much! Of course not forgetting the whole of IAG camp, without you the camp won't be as successful and fun! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Joining as coach for this camp has really taught me alot, it has enable me to see different types of people. People who lack the direction, the drive, the method to succeed in life. As a coach, we are there to support these people, to help them, to guide them to the path of success. However, the ulitmate choice still lies with them whether they want to apply the new skills they acquired
I am glad to say that the team I coached see the light, the path at the end of four days. They changed for the better with the fire in their eyes, prepared to face any challenges in life. I am proud to see them graduate from the camp. It has been really enjoyable coaching you guys. THANKS TO KEITH, WEN XIANG, XIAO TING, HUI YING, DAVID AND MICK! YOU ALL WILL DEFINETLY SUCCEED IN LIFE!!!
Not forgetting my good peers from 0616 for the encouragement and concern you guys had given me. YOU PEOPLE ARE THE BEST!!!!!
So, what have I really learned? Well, after this camp, I know myself better now. I still lack the pretty much of the sociable skills. I tend to talk only to the people I know and not willing to open up more. Furthermore, I take a long time to get warm up to new people and I definetly need to shorten that time. There' pretty much work to be done here and I would gladly accept any guidances that can help me improve.
Self-confidence is also lacking in me, I tend to ask too many simple, straightfoward questions. Believing in oneself is really cruical in pursuing a coaching career and lots of work needs to be done here. The first step, I think is to talk more often to the opposite sex. I realised too that most of my best peers are of the same gender and I don't talk naturally when I am one to one with a female. So, one way is to talk more with females.
Split personality is next. I become another different person when I am focused into coaching. I can speak better, can build rapport with them much much easier, can do whole lot of commuication more efficently. However, once I am back to the backstage, I shut myself up again for some reasons. This is one really serious serious challenge I need to overcome. Please feel free to provide any comments to help me improve. I will appreciate that.
Alertness. Aware of the changes to the surroundings as I am late for several briefings. This challenge I can solved. Therefore, not much of a obstacle...
And so IAG camp came to and end, life return back to its usual state. This is not the end of the coaching route for me. If time permits, I will join again in December. So, wish me luck and goooooddbyeee!!!
